Post-Production to Pre-Archiving to Editing After Archiving
Here you will find information related to
1. Preparing the videos before they enter the archiving cycle
When editing is finished…
Each video has its own Final Cut Pro (FCP) Library. If there are two or more versions of the same video, please create different projects within the Library.
Please consolidate the FCP Library, and double check if it is successfully consolidated. The simplest is to repeat the process and FCP will tell you there is nothing to consolidate.
Upload the consolidated Library to “Drop Off Library” on Microsoft Teams (OneDrive)
The video will enter the archiving cycle, for any further editing please use the archived version of FCP Library, as described below
2. Editing videos after they are archived
Videos may require further editing after they are finished and archived. Please contact Lilith to retrieve the archived version of the FCP Library or video (when FCP Library isn't available). The archived version contains corresponding metadata which other copies may not have, and it helps to distinguish the definitive version for long-term preservation. There are multiple backup copies of each video and library, so it is important that they are all kept up to date.
As Final Cut Pro doesn't work with files in cloud storage, when retrieving the Library from “Drop Off Library”:
if you are using the OneDrive app, in Finder, drag the Library from OneDrive to a local folder, and then open it in Final Cut Pro.
if you are using MS Teams, download the whole folder to a local folder
if you click download from Teams app, it will automatically download it to your computer's Download folder, please do not open it until you see a download complete notification.
if you want to choose a different folder, open Teams on SharePoint.
After you finish with the editing, consolidate the Library again to make sure it contains all media and re-upload it to “Drop Off Library”, and email Lilith.
Thank you!
