Katie Cook

Dr. Katie Cook (they/them) is a white queer non-binary fat activist who holds a PhD in Community Psychology. Katie works as a researcher and critical methodologist. Their work is informed by a deep commitment to co-creating more equitable communities rooted in collective care. Their research engages critical and creative methodologies (e.g., body mapping) to explore topics such as fatness, weight-based stigma, queer and trans well-being, and upstream prevention. Katie is a course instructor (Renison University College), fiber artist, trinket enthusiast, and proud Auntie to many small (and grown up) humans.
