Feminist Studies Research Associate (5 to 10 hours weekly)
Re•Vision: The Centre for Art and Social Justice is seeking to hire a Research Associate to provide editorial and administrative support for various research projects on issues related to disability and difference, and for the co-editors a new edition of a wide-scale introductory gender, sexuality and women’s studies anthology. Duties may include the following:
Attend monthly textbook editorial meetings, take action-oriented minutes and manage follow-up
Attend bi-weekly research check-in meetings, take action-oriented minutes, and manage follow-up
Provide administrative infrastructure for textbook project and other research activities
Organize materials
Edit materials
Develop and edit slides and speaking notes
Interface with content creators
Interface with researchers, administrators, conference organizers, etc
Translate academic materials for professional audiences
Organize and facilitate meetings
Job Specifics:
5-10 hours per week, up to one year
hourly rate and benefits commensurate with the University of Guelph HR policies
option for extension TBD
We are seeking an advanced doctoral student or post-doctorate with the requisite expertise and training to undertake the work of supporting a textbook project and other research projects. We invite applicants with expertise and teaching experience in Feminist Studies, Gender Studies, Sexuality Studies, Trans Studies, Disability Studies, Critical Mental Health Studies, Critical Race Studies, Indigenous Studies, Social Justice Studies and/or a closely related interdisciplinary field. Applicants can submit their CV, an expression of interest (letter form is fine) outlining your interest and experience in the ideas and activities described above, and a 2 to 3 page writing sample (can be 2 pages of a paper, blog, dissertation or any other document you have written).
